Y is for YOKES

YOKED BABY SWEATER
The letter for today is "Y" and the links are all going to be for free patterns of yoked sweaters.  What is a Yoked sweater you may ask?  This is a sweater that is mainly done in stockinette or other even stitch, but around the neck there is a decorative stitch as in the baby sweater above.

Often, the yoke is done in a stranded color pattern, like this child's sweater:

Now in case you've been wondering if yoked sweaters are only for children, here are some lovely designs that you might want to make for yourself.
YOKED TUNIC
CABLE YOKE CARDIGAN

There you have it.  These are some wonderful free patterns that you can make without breaking any YOKES (o.k. bad joke)!!!

  2. Yokes on a garment seem so flattering. I love the grey cable yolk cardigan. I made some in this style in the seventies. And wish those days would return. Anong with my youth. hehe.
