S is for SIMPLE SOCKS

PIRATE ARRRGYLE SOCKS

Today's bevy of  free patterns is for socks.  Now I must be honest, I don't know how to make socks and there are many ways you can do it, toe up, magic loop, four double pointed needles, etc.  That being considered the patterns I have put up today are for BEGINNER SOCKS, or at least that's what they say in their titles (except for the pirate socks above).

I have also included a video (part 1) on magic loop sock knitting which is the kind that I intend to learn so here we go:

This first pattern is a beginner pattern for magic loop socks.  The pattern
says that they can be "Toe up or Toe down" and although I'm not sure what that means, it looks like there is a choice which is always a good thing. You can discover what method you enjoy the best.

BEGINNER SOCKS TEACHING

These second socks are done on double pointed needles and the pattern bills itself as being a "teaching" pattern which sounds good to me.  I know pretty much that I don't have the dexterity for double pointeds except in a very small area like the top of a hat, but some people swear by them.  Give these a try and let me know how they go.

SUPER SIMPLE SOCKS
For the final pair, the designer says that they are "the most basic
sock pattern you can get" and that sounds wonderful to me.

REMEMBER TO CLICK ON THE TITLES FOR THE PATTERNS.

  2. I tried knitting when I was a teenager and my first attempts bombed big time, lol. If I could knit, I would proably make scarves and leave the socks up to the professionals :)

Socks are hardly simple as far as I'm concerned. I steer clear of plain ones and go straight for the pairs with the coolest designs. So needless to say, I like the "Beg. Magic Loop Socks" that you posted the best.

    Cheers!

  3. Popping by for AtoZ. Socks are way down the road for me. I'm still getting scarves down.
