P is for POTHOLDERS (and double knitting)

STAR TREK POT HOLDERS

P is for Potholders which are great things to knit in the summer.  I have have a cute (not free) pattern that I ordered from Knit Picks and will post when I ever finish it.  One thing about pot holders is that you want them to be thick so that you can pick up a "pot" without feeling the heat.

The method used in knitting these potholders is called DOUBLE KNITTING, and I have NEVER done it, but will be so I've found a tutorial for it and have posted it below.  It doesn't seem too hard, but those could be famous last words:  OK let's learn DOUBLE KNITTING:

Now that we are all experts at DOUBLE KNITTING, here are the free patterns that I found to highlight in today's blog.  REMEMBER CLICK ON THE TITLES TO GET TO THE FREE PATTERNS!
